EA SPORTS Active is offering a free training program to help people run or run/walk their first 5k. Besides the training program, the EA SPORTS Active 5k Challenge includes group runs (or walks) once a week if you’re in an area with a Community Leader, and an EA SPORTS Active running tee for race day. Vancouver, WA does have a community leader, (me), so we’ll be meeting once a week to run together beginning the first week of October. Our 5k for the challenge is the Run Like Hell 5k in Portland, Oregon on October 25th.
The challenge is free. You can click here to register. There is a small fee for the Run Like Hell 5k, but it’s totally worth it. Click here to register for the run.
I remember my first 5k like it was yesterday. It was the first time I had ever run as far as 3 miles. It was a big accomplishment for me. If you’ve been considering running or walking your first 5k and are feeling intimidated or doubting yourself, just know that you CAN do it. Go for it! Sign up for the challenge to get your free training program and get to work.
EA SPORTS Active will let me know if you sign up in the Vancouver, WA area, but post a comment here so we can get in touch sooner.
