I know so many runners who run, or try to run, when their injuries are telling them to sit it out. Like me, we push it until our bodies scream, “enough!” This time, my physical therapist told me enough. I am not supposed to run for two weeks. I just finished week one and it really sucks! I don’t know if I’ve ever wanted to run this badly before. Talk about distance making the heart grow fonder. Being grounded from running is making me absolutely yearn for it!
In one more week, I’ll begin training for the Girlfriend’s Half Marathon. I’m beginning to get a little nervous. Will I be ready to start training and if I’m hurting, will I runĀ anyway? This event is really important to me. Not to mention I’ll be running as a pace leader with my running group beginning next Saturday. Needless to say, I feel like there is a lot on the line.
Time to head to the gym to do every thing EXCEPT run. Just one more week!
